More Information

The following information applies to all fall protection and rescue products. You are advised to consider the points below before purchasing any of the products on this site SSM know a thing or two about fall arrest equipment with over 30 years experience in the industry we can tell you the pro's and con's of the products. But there is something else to consider when deciding which piece of equipment to use:

  • What are you using the equipment for (scaffolding, MEWP, confined space, roof work)
  • What is the weight of the user (current EU standard test is rated at 100Kg - 15 stone)
  • What is the size of the user (are you small, medium, large or extra large)
  • How often is equipment being used (material webbing has a use by date)

Have you considered what the regulations are relating to the use of PPE? You must ensure that:

  • The users have training in the safe use of the PPE provided
  • The equipment is being inspected regularly by a trained competent person
  • There are written records of thorough inspection

If you are still not sure of what you need, the simple answer is to get in touch with one of our team who are there to ensure you are getting exactly the right product for the job. We also offer a full training and inspection service if required.

There is a wide range of fall arrest equipment from harnesses to rescue kits. It can be confusing when trying to decide which one is best and the saying 'you get what you pay for' has never been so right with suppliers offering everything from a belt to harness with all bells and whistles. How often have you bought something only to find later it's the wrong size, uncomfortable, wears out quickly and not used properly, this usually ends up wasting both your valuable time and money?
